I believe that's an older bios version, and that's probably not what

If the time and date are set to defaults after you shut down the system, shut off the power, then turn on the power and start it up again, you have a Cmos battery problem.
It's either
- too weak
- dead
(they typically last about 5 years)
- upside down in it's socket, so that the polarity is wrong
+ is supposed to be visible when it's installed
- or - it has an improper connection - the top contact in the battery socket is bent and doesn't touch the battery, or there's corrosion in the battery socket that needs to be cleaned off.
