I was planning to reinstall Windows 8.1 on my laptop. I did by using a usb flash drive by using the legacy bios boot mode because it will not boot from it on uefi. It Installed perfectly but every time it started up it will be in legacy bios. 2 days after I tried to start it up by came up with the message os not found. I have tried f2,f8, f10 and f12 neither have worked. I cannot access recovery. I hope their is a solution to this as soon as possible because I need my computer back by next week

I've just bought an Acer ES1-432, and want to install Windows 7 on it. However, whenever I try to boot from a disk or a USB that I made bootable through Rufus, it hangs on the Windows startup screen.
I've found this thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1952189/windows-install-disc-freezes-starting-windows.html that recommends settings a 'Launch CSM' option. However, after having updated the BIOS to the newest version (found here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6976), it still only has an option to disable Secure Boot, which I have always kept on 'Disabled'.
What can I do here? I think I need to get a BIOS with an option to change 'Launch CSM' or something that I can set the boot to 'Legacy', because all I can do is disable and enable Secure Boot. It does boot from the disk/usb, but it doesn't go past the 'Starting Windows' screen. All I need to do is install Windows 7, but it hangs.
