Kids Domain by Stephanie Heese
'...Kids guide Laura using either the arrows on the computer keyboard or a gamepad through the rooms of her beautiful house, into the yard, through the narrow streets of the village, and more. Along the way, kids must investigate everything they see and be curious, making Laura open drawers, pick up interesting items (like a peanut, dog bone, and bracelet) to put them in her backpack, and talk to everyone she meets along the way. Talking to people will help give clues. At the beginning of the adventure, the goal of the game may not be very clear, but after exploring for awhile, the story slowly unravels - and it is all about fairies and magic.'
'The program is so realistic at times that, to a young child, it can almost feel like she's in Laura's shoes. Once kids unlock the door in the basement, things can get quite eerie. The music is mysterious and a tad scary, and doors shut behind Laura dramatically. When Laura peeks into a trunk, realistic rats come out of it. My 5 year old daughter was terrified and close to tears about this area. Even my 8 year old admitted it was 'a little bit' scary. I had to work through the basement part of the game for my daughter, and assure her that everything was just fine.'
