1. Zelda Skyward Sword Wii Emulator Download

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is beautiful on the Wii, but more because of the game's art direction than the console's technical horsepower. Enter the PC emulating community, who now bring us the game running on the 'Dolphin' emulator to show what it can really do. The screenshots below compare.

[HOW-TO] Play Skyward Sword HD

Hi all,

I wanted to share my experience with recently playing Skyward Sword through the Dolphin emulator at 1080p settings. I also wanted this to serve as guide for those unfamiliar with emulation or those who might have questions on how to go about this.
Hardware Requirements
Playing Skyward Sword @ 1080p settings will require a high-end processor/GPU. I was able to maintain 30fps at almost all locations with an AMD FX-8350 processor and ATI 280 AMD Radeon R9 280 videocard. I believe Dolphin performs better with an Intel build as well. You will also need a bluetooth connection and a wireless Wii senorbar. I got a USB bluetooth adapter from amazon for less than $10 and used a senorbar I already had.
Dolphin Emulator
For those unfamiliar - Dolphin is a emulator that allows you to play Gamecube and Wii games on your PC. More information about dolphin and a download link: https://dolphin-emu.org/ - I will not be covering obtaning ROMS in this guide.
Configuration in Dolphin:
Skyward Sword uses almost all default settings. I used the following two links to help configure for 1080p. The blog link will help with specific video settings like Force Texture Filtering:

Experience
The first thing you will notice is the game looks amazing compared to the 480p Wii version. The menus looks very crisp and environments in fuller detail. I am almost to the Sand Ship and the game is running very smoothly and has been tons of fun having my PC hooked up to my 60in TV to further the console experience.

Issues
Here is a small list of issues I have encounter playing thus far:

2. Skyloft at nighttime is the only place I have experienced fps drops.

3. The game froze once. This was right before the trial in Faron Woods. I actually had to change the video settings to OpenGL rendering to 'force' the game from crashing due to that cut scene once Link puts his sword in the ground.

4. Pairing the Wii-mote can be a pain sometimes. I normally went around Win10's bluetooth menu and paired via the Wiimote button in dolphin.

TLDR
If you have a computer that can handle it - I highly recommend playing Skyward Sword through the Dolphin emulator for a great HD experience.
Interested in Emulation?
I am by no means an emulation expert - I was just able to get everything set up from a few google searches. Make sure to check out the /r/emulation subreddit and as well as the dolphin forums for further developments.

Thanks!

Can I run The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword in Dolphin at a playable speed with my current specs?
Intel Core I7 720QM @ 1.6 GHz up to 2.8 GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1 GB VRAM
8 GB RAM
I can play quite a few games with minimum low quality settings, however one thing weird I noticed is that newer games like Twilight Princess run better than older games like Super Smash Bros Melee, in which I get massive lag, where as other games run great.
The reason I ask is because I will have to get the Dolphin Bar or something similar in order to play it, and I don't want to spend the money if my PC can't handle it in the first place.
Is there any software at all that would let me emulate Wii Motion Plus just enough to let me get into the game for a small amount of time to see how it performs?
Please reply soon, thank you.
